The Secret’s Out! I Wrote My First Book!

After seven months of dreaming, designing, writing, revising (and waiting!), I can finally say the words I’ve been holding in for so long: I wrote my very first book! 🎉

This has been one of the most challenging yet rewarding projects I’ve ever worked on. From designing and testing patterns, to writing step-by-step instructions, to taking a ton of step-by-step photos, not to mention the countless back-and-forth emails with my amazing publisher and editor—it’s been a journey. A full-on labor of love that I’m beyond proud of, and now I finally get to share all the details with you!

Why I Wrote This Book

When I first started finger knitting, I had no idea where it would take me. What began as a way to create something cozy for my home quickly turned into a passion for designing adorable, squishy stuffies that brought joy to others. Writing this book feels like coming full circle—going back to where it all started and helping others take that very first step.

This book is more than just a collection of patterns. It’s an invitation to get your hands moving, to slow down, to create something with love. Whether you’re making your first loop or finishing your tenth project, I hope these patterns bring you as much joy as they brought me while designing them.

Chunky Knit Blanket
The perfect first project for beginners. You’ll learn the basic finger knitting techniques while making a soft, cozy blanket. It’s also a great warm-up before diving into stuffies, plus, this is where my own journey began.

Long Pillow Pouf
A stylish twist on the classic pouf. This long version adds flair to your couch or bed and introduces the concept of knitting in the round.

Stress Ball Buddy
A cute and quick make using leftover yarn. This project also teaches you how to add eyes, a small but essential step for stuffie-making!

Medium Beatrice the Bumblebee
You might know my large and mini bees, but this middle-size version is brand new! It’s the perfect beginner-friendly stuffie to build your confidence.

5-in-1 Bird Pattern
One base pattern, five birds: Hen, Yellow Duck, Mallard Duck, Eagle, and Flamingo. I updated my Harriet the Hen pattern and added some fun feathered friends to match!

Ollie the Octopus
A fan favorite with a fresh update! Still beginner-friendly, but with brand new tentacles to bring Ollie to life in a whole new way.

Pickle
A fun, textured make that features finger-knit bobbles, perfect for this quirky little stuffie. It’s the only food-themed project in the book, and a crowd favorite for a reason.

4-in-1 Sea Animal Pattern
Based on my popular whale tutorials, this set includes a medium-sized whale, plus variations to turn it into a shark, walrus, or seal. Beginner-friendly, of course, and super versatile.

Elephant and Pig
These two patterns have been highly requested, and now they’re finally here. They’re also the only intermediate-level patterns in the book, making them a perfect final challenge for readers ready to take the next step.

Each pattern includes clear written instructions, step-by-step photos, and tips to help you along the way. I wanted this book to feel like I’m right there with you, cheering you on as you learn, create, and fall in love with finger knitting.
